happy birthday, blog of mine...

I jumped head first into the blogging waters a year ago today. Not without dipping my big toe in first to test the temperature, but I've been splashing around ever since. Not only has it left my fingers in a perpetual state of typing, (watching TV, talking on the phone, silent voices in my head...the fingers spell everything out... somebody tell me you do this too?) but it has opened my mind to thinking again. Most of the year's posts were silly and wouldn't have caused a meltdown anywhere had they not been written, but a few of them taught me some important lessons about myself, lessons I don't think I would have taken time to process without putting them in print. It has brought some old friends back into my life, I've met a few new ones and it chronicled my year's journey with more discipline than I would have had without it. I like writing and I like knowing I have a place to go with the thoughts that cram themselves between my ears. Thanks for reading. Now sing to me so I can blow my candles out :)
