When we aborted our weekend in St. Louis to celebrate Shawna's birthday due to the ice storm, Kevin and I awakened to enjoy an extended cozy morning in front of a fire and TV. Lifetime was showing "Pollyanna" which I haven't seen as an adult. This prompted the following dialogue:
him: exactly what is a Pollyanna?
me: someone who always sees the positive in everything instead of the negative.
him: so what do you call someone who doesn't?
me: Kevin.

Heard you all are having a little ice storm over there. Thankful to know you aborted your trip to St.Louis for safety reasons, but hoping you can reschedule another time to celebrate. Everyone deserves a fun birthday celebration!
Really good to see you at Christmas time. It was wonderful to catch up with you - even if for just a night. I was a slacker and didn't get my Christmas Thank you cards out...so THANK YOU for your kindness and generosity. Your gifts were absolutely cool as can be and I have gotten many compliments on them already. You're the best Ret. Thankful to have you as a friend:)
